Over the course of this year, you have heard SAP communicate around four key innovation areas: innovating the core, while also extending with cloud, mobility and in-memory solutions. In line with these strategic moves, SAP Business One will benefit from all these innovation areas and SAP will continue to work closely with you to do so. As we end 2011 with more than 32,000 total Business One customers, we would like to thank you for your contribution to our success and provide some exciting insight into the coming year.

Core application development:
We will continue to provide a wealth of functional enhancements and localizations for strategic markets as planned. In addition we will focus on usability, user experience, and improved capabilities for collaboration and end user empowerment.

SAP analytics, powered by SAP HANA:
SAP Business One analytics will provide exciting new analytical functionality including enterprise search, interactive analysis, and reporting as well as new dashboards and the ability to leverage all types of data sources. In addition, it will allow you to offer customers self-service business analytics for their users. All these new capabilities will be delivered with the speed of in-memory computing.

Mobility:
Given the strategic importance of mobility, we will further enhance the development platform for SAP Business One to provide greater opportunity for you to leverage the open infrastructure for application development. The SAP Store will play a critical role in offering you new opportunities to monetize your applications. Recognizing the customer’s desire for choice, SAP will also extend the SAP Business One mobile offering to support additional mobile operating systems.

Cloud:
Through tight collaboration with you, we will provide SAP Business One in the cloud in the first half of 2012. This marks a significant evolution of the subscription-based hosting program for SAP Business One, which was launched earlier this year in some markets as a first step toward a partner-hosted cloud environment. This offer for small companies will complement the already available SAP Business ByDesign offering for customers in the mid-market segment.

SAP plans to further invest in SAP Business One, making the solution more cloud savvy from a technical and go-to-market perspective, providing you with a competitive cloud offering to expand your portfolio and enabling you to offer choice in delivery options to your customers.

This exciting news was recently shared in keynote presentations by both our co-CEO Jim Hageman Snabe and board member Vishal Sikka at the SAP Influencer Summit, which occurred in Boston, Mass., USA last week. Presentations can be found at: www.sapvirtualevents.com/influencer-summit

Further details regarding this plan will be rolled out during the 2012 Field Kick-Off Meetings (FKOM), taking place in January in all regions. What it means to SAP Business One in Singapore:

1. SAP Business One’s compliance  to Singapore government tax guide will not be questioned now. At times, when our partners are facing small/local accounting software in the competition, they would be questioned of our system’s compliance.
2. It will be a  good motivation  now to push for the  Starter Package whereby previously most of the registered software in the list are the small/local accounting software. Now that SAP Business One is in the list we can compete with them head on.
3. At the moment, our usual competitors like Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Sage Accpac etc are NOT in the list. This an excellent time for our partners to position this development to win over the competition.
4. Easier/quicker approval of government grants for our prospects/customers. IDA typically gives grants/funding to SMEs who are embarking on IT/ERP projects. It will only approve grants/funding to IT/ERP projects whose software are registered in IRAS.
